This year has been a big year of growth and healing for me personally. I am incredibly grateful to myself for choosing people who are mutually supportive, staying in and being more and more vulnerable in therapy, and trusting myself to fully feel my feelings. Putting down the wall between me and the world and finding my own voice has been gratifying and excruciating at the same time.
I am excited for the year ahead. I have enjoyed giving myself accountability in my writing here and I look forward to continuing to explore writing about sobriety and recovery. I want to think more about mental health and the ways it is growing and changing, ways to innovate and expand our ideas of how to help people and support one another as we all live in this world.
Writing and reading are my longest relationships and I am dedicating myself to them again in 2024. My hope for Soberbia is that it becomes a source of ideas, community, and conversation about the future of our humanity and how we are connected and responsible for our lives and each other.
Thank you for reading, thank you for supporting my writing. When I get a new subscriber or someone pays for a subscription is so exciting! Sharing ideas and learning about other people and what they think is vital to my well being. Showing up as a sober person in recovery is important to me. Supporting and being with other people in their own life explorations and struggles is part of my life’s work.
I wish you a wonderful and thoughtful end to 2023! I’m taking time off and will back to my regular posting schedule starting Sunday, January 6, 2024.
